Coming soonWe usually say no to TV. Our work takes place out of the spotlight. That is deliberate, and it is also why it works. For Stephanie First, a new educational children’s programme by VPRO, we made an exception.
VPRO approached us with a clear starting point: no sensation and no exaggeration, but helping children understand how information, control and power work in a democratic state under the rule of law. That fits us.
We spent a morning on location in Utrecht. Together with a strong production team we brought our profession back to its essence, in children’s language. We showed how surveillance works, which tools you use, how to follow someone without being noticed and, above all, where the limits are.
Because that is what it comes down to: not spying, but careful fact-finding within clear boundaries. We will announce the broadcast here as soon as it is available.
